Lak Hee Oak 락희옥
Summary
Lak Hee Oak has a few locations around Seoul. They tend to have modern open plan layouts. Patrons enjoy the seasonal anju menu of modern refined interpretations of Korean dishes. Most tables will have bottles of wine, local craft beer, or the cheap green bottle soju.
They have a small list of good quality sool that is meant to pair with their menu. Asking for sool recommendations lights up the servers’ faces. You may even get some free extras. The bottles on the menu can be pricey (W70,000), but the cooler case has bottles that aren’t on the menu.
The Bossam (Pork Belly with Fresh Kimchi) and Chadolbagi Gui (Grilled Thinly Sliced Beef Brisket) are the stars, especially when dipped in the blonde intensely flavored doenjang bean paste.
